Yarn wrapped bottles make unique decorations and gift containers

Yarn wrapped bottles are pretty and practical. We are all trying to learn to reuse, refurbish, and re-invent. Why not give glass bottles new life by inexpensively adding color and texture?

All you need to make your yarn wrapped bottle is a bottle, of course, scissors, yarn, and glue. I use a hot glue gun. (Be careful!)

What you will need:

Glass bottle, of course.

Yarn.

Scissors

glue (I use a hot glue gun, but usually burn myself)

1. Begin by placing a dab of glue inside the opening of the bottle. Anchor the beginning of your yarn there.

2. Wrap yarn around bottle, I use a dab of glue every other wrap, otherwise the yarn tries to ride up like undies.

3. Wrap as tight or loose as you wish.

4. Anchor at the end with glue and cut.

Ta-da! A colorful, textured vase, gift holder (things that easily roll up can be tucked into the bottle as long as it still sticks out of the top.) I am picturing a handful of pussy willows in this heather colored vase!

The blue vase was wrapped tight, but I wrapped the heather one loose because I liked the contrast between the heather and the dark glass.

Now that you have the hang of it, play around with different jars.
